Why so much Chocolate

Americans are known for being fat fatty fatsos who indulge too much in sweets and other junk, and Valentine’s day doesn’t really help with that assessment.

Around 36 million boxes of chocolate are sold across the US on Valentine’s Day. This amounts to 58 million pounds of chocolate. That’s not even accounting for other candies. Additionally, there are 8 billion sugar hearts being produced each year. All in all, almost $1.7 billion is spent on candy each year just for this holiday.

But that leaves the question, why so much chocolate?

The answer is simple: it tastes good.
